GiroCheckout – the Multi-Payment Solution for the Public Sector

Modern public administration requires digital payment options. With GiroCheckout, you can offer citizens a simple, secure, and convenient way to pay for public services — whether via Wero, SEPA direct debit, credit card, instant bank transfer, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

Whether for mobility, education, culture, or municipal fees: GiroCheckout integrates all common online payment methods into your digital services from a single source and in compliance with data protection regulations.

This not only enables user-friendly payment experiences, but also significantly reduces administrative effort and costs.

How GiroCheckout Works

With GiroCheckout, the public sector benefits from special conditions for digital payment processing, making the settlement of digital payment methods more cost-effective for your organization.

You decide which payment methods you want to offer your citizens. Additional digital payment methods can also be integrated later without significant effort.

The payment process itself works just as citizens are already familiar with from online shopping: after using an online service, citizens are automatically guided to the digital payment process during the service workflow. Simple, fast, and secure.

Credits for fees and other payments are transferred to you within 1 to 7 banking business days in the form of gross payments. Any associated settlement costs are clearly displayed in the GiroCockpit.

GiroCheckout is specifically tailored to the needs of the public sector and is therefore particularly easy to implement. It is directly available through almost all municipal data centers and service providers, allowing integration into citizen portals and online administrative processes to be implemented quickly, easily, securely, and precisely.
